Our school has been co-operating with Ecological Organization from Germany “Umwelt und Bildung” (Environment and Education) since 1995. It unites students who are eager to
refine and deepen the knowledge of ecology and would like to know the world.
Every year a few students who are fluent in German and interested in ecology go to a free ecological camp in Germany for two weeks. They go sightseeing in Potsdam, Dresden and in the capital city-Berlin, and visit many botanic parks and nature reserves accompanied by biologists and foresters.

We sail boat and go kayaking on rivers and lakes in the area of Berlin and in the geographical land of Spreewald.

Sometimes we visit forest schools where German students have a good time and get to know the surrounding world.

We are accompanied by German teachers and students all the time. In our spare time we love doing shopping. In the evenings we play sports or organize discos.

We bring our German friends to Poland with us, so they could stay with us a few days. We trip to the Bieszczady Mountains and everybody is welcome to join us, as the costs are sponsored by Polish-German Youth Co-operation. The exchange motivates us to learning German.

Students impressions of the last exchange

On June 22 we started our journey by train to Germany. There were 15 students and our teachers Mr. Lelek and Mr. Wydrych. Our tight itinerary was full of trips and attractions on each day of our stay. We took the possibility of sightseeing historical places and practicing our language skills.

We spent the first four days in a small town near Berlin Thanks to one of our two drivers- Mario we were able to see East and West Berlin. In the first two days of our stay we visited Eats Berlin which is the part of the city with the oldest historical places and monuments like
Brandenburg Gate, Unten den Linden street, the TV tower (Rudfunkturm) or the Reichstag- the headquarters of German Parliament. There is also and Alexanderplatz- the place where Germans meet and is famous for its fountain and clock (called Weltzeituhr) The place is surrounded by numerous hypermarkets, boutiques and cafes.
The next few days we spent sightseeing West Berlin. Everybody liked its modern centre, where there are the headquarters of the biggest German companies. We also visited a famous park and the Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam. Our last days in Germany we were living close to Dresno in a resort built by biologists and situated in the middle of a forest. We met there the owners of the resort and the new cook and guide in one person- Paul. We spend a lot of time sightseeing the picturesque Saxon Switzerland where we especially loved the rocky maze. Furthermore, we saw the beautiful castles of “Zwinger” and we really enjoyed ourselves during the disco in Dresno.
However, taking part in the World Cup in Dresno was the most exciting event which will be remembered by us forever.
Our great adventure in Germany ended on July 3. And again, the old saying is true- “all good things come to an end”. We had a wonderful time in Germany, we have struck new friendships and learnt a lot about the country and the people ,too.
